I produced a rough and read quirky instrument which I took to be played. However I was told that "all instruments should have cases". Not wishing to treble the price of the instrument by buying an ill-fitting case, I decided to make one ... equally quirky.
So I decided on Papier-mâché as I remembered the kids made masks with Papier-mâché in a few hours using cheap materials.
So I wrapped the instrument with padding and then put a fluffy towel as the box "liner". In retrospect I should have cut the liner carefully to fit the instrument, but I didn't want it to look too "polished" (having been forced to get a box!)
However I decided to use water proof wood glue (an inherited load that was going off) and instead of all drying in an hour or two, the glue seals the surface and it still isn't dry overnight. And water proof glue is soft, so I need a much greater thickness to get the stiffness I need. |

| Second thought.Just buy a lightweight violin case .No weight ,no fuss. Even brand new is cheap .But nothing quirky . |

I hate buying things like cases online because they never give dimensions, or if they do, it's for the outside. |

| A full size violin is always going to be the same shape .It`s not as variable as a guitar case . It`s so standard the makers never bother to show measurements .That`s not the makers fault. You have to blame those old Italians back in Cremona . |
