Yes, very nice, but can he MAKE a violin? Can we, in life, do two things extraordinarily well? I've subrogated my violin playing to my violin making. In any case, its too late for me to do either to acclaim, but I'm not doing anything else anyway so why not at least give it a shot?

Dave, I'm in the same boat as you, I'll never be much of a fiddler (started when I was 45 ish) but I keep working at it and love it. I'm playing my number two which I completed is 2008 and it sounds real good. Currently working on 3,4 and 5, hoping to finish those up early 2011. I'd quite my day job in a heart beat if I thought I could make a living at building, kids to send to college though. boy oh boy is it fun though!
