Hello ...
I am a new member....
With music and musical instruments I have no special relationship.
But I work in a music high school and so I have daily contact and stimulation.
I deal with art in general, the construction of all types and sometimes repairing musical instruments.
Wanting to do something different, I joined all the past and was involved in the construction of a violin made of paper.
But not just one model, but a cardboard violin is a classical form but with a different style in appearance and most important of all, that is a violin that will play as normal wooden violins.
I think I managed pretty well, but like all the prototype certainly has its flaws and weaknesses.
The key is that it plays and sounds like a violin ... and even a good violin.
My big drawback is the lack of music education, which is difficult with the correct construction.
I filed the papers to ensure the design patent and is preparing to build a guitar.
Once I finish a few settings and adjustments to make on the sound effect will upload a video you can hear the sound better and judge the whole of my efforts.
Until then you can only see the visual effect of my build.
All violin the neck and fingerboard bass bar also papier mache.
I hope you enjoy and forgive me for my bad English, which result can not write well what I want.
At the moment i have only this with violin sound .
The first and no so good.

Hello....
Unfortunately a small problem in fingerboard in string G .... we broke the mood and the right sound and playing.
This violin after correcting the problem presented .... will be ready.
Of course the sound is not what I want ..... but we'll see the difference when i finish the next.
I hope to have some new inspiration for the exterior.
However, as has the first violin made of paper in the world, playing .... normally.
Upload a video and more to come

It actually sounds pretty good in the UTube. Better than I expected.
Let's see how it holds up. _________________ Dave in the Blue Ridge

hello again...
Thanks Dave....
I am very happy with the outcome.
I think with a little work and after time will further tighten the sheets will be even better and louder sound.
One more video for now .....

Sounds a lot better than I thought it would.
Wonder how you made the paper strong enough to resist all the tension in the neck and the belly. |

The technical papier mache gives by itself is extremely hard to build.
Also several VARNISH ..... and of course a few patents and secrets. |
