Hello everyone, this is the inside of my violin. can I get some opinions on whether or not this violin would improve with adding corner block, or should I leave it alone. I also plan on carving the belly to better specs; is it worth it?

Your thoughts are appeciated.

This is the same as one I`m working on. I haven`t tryed it yet. It is now in the varnishing stage.
I put in 4 corner blocks , a new base bar ,and thind the top and bottom plates.
I think if you have the time why not! Seems like you can`t make it much wores.

Just think, The wood is very old too. You mint make a cheepy into a prutty good one.

I`ll let you know how my`n came out in about three weeks.

I am shure there will be someone that can give you a better anser . I am intrested to know what others on here think about this too!!

I've seen a few like that. Typical old German or Czech "factory" work.I would say no to the corner blocks. Just glue a small square of linen into the corners for reinforcement. The belly is a different. I would thin and smooth the belly to correct thickness, and glue in a conventional bass bar. Be careful to make sure that you're not over thinning any areas. I've seen some where the bottom of the gouge marks are less than 2 mm thick!
Be careful with the neck reset to make sure that the angles are correct.
