What sort of tool do you guys use to measure the distance from the edge
of the ff hole to the sound post? I like to start my sound post adjustments
from the center of the bridge foot, but have trouble getting anything in
position at that angle, to take a measurement. |

| I used to use a plastic ruler but now just use a split business card. It works both for the lateral position and for the distance behind the bridge. |

| I use a rule with a bend in it, but the business card with a slit in it is a clever alternative. |

| I should add that for celli and basses a business card isn't long enough. For those I use a ruler. |
