| Has any one ever used Tried & True oil varnish? If not can anyone tell me if they think if would be a decent varnish. |

You are thinking of Tried and True Varnish Oil. It's probably got too high an oil to resin ratio to use out of the can on a violin, i.e. it's not really a varnish per se (it is 'fortified' with varnish resin).
The fellow who makes it, Joe Robson, also makes violin varnishes, and he doesn't recommend the Varnish Oil for varnishing instruments. |
