I seem to be getting a bit carried away with the posting. Very Happy I was wondering where in Florida (Sarasota county to be specific) I would be able to find opportunities to work with a skilled luthier, maybe to make this my profession. I don't know where to look, and was wondering if anyone might know a local luthier or could tell me how I could find one. Thank you!

check with your local professional symphony players for references for luthiers..... but remember that unless the luthier is looking for help, they might percieve that training you will hurt their business because you will no doubt begin to take away some of their business....so don't expect to get a lot of interest. Best is to enroll in formal training and then hang your shop shingle at your door and make some phone calls to prospective musicians, and get active in the music circles.
Building a business takes time, community involvement and a passion for excellence!
If your primary objective is to serve your clients well with integrity your business will prosper. If your objective is to get rich... you won't!
Good luck!... Mat

I think there is one in Tampa with the last name of Infanti. (you can check the annual strings magazine guide)

I don't remember one any closer to you. You would think Miami
would have one ... (?)

Thank you for the replies. I will research this luthier in tampa; it's a bit of a travel but if he is interested, I'm sure it would be worth it. As much as I would like to relocate to Israel, I'm afraid that cannot be arranged in my schedule. Very Happy
