Hi, I am new to this forum and I wanted to ask you guys a question.

My violin has a label inside that says: "Repaired by A. Wilkes, Manchester 1904".

Does anyone happen to know this A. Wilkes??

That label precedes my birth by 62 years...
Google has nothing and neither does Tarisio.

I could look in a book... brb....
A book on British Violin Makers from 1920 states that Alfred Wilks was an Amateur violin makers from Manchester. 1890-1904. Seems to have died rather young.

No further information is available.
