Here's some pictures of recently completed #2. Thought I would post for others to see. Not quite sure about posting photos so here goes!

Beautiful work Mike... # 2 and you are already a pro! I like to focus on restoration and I have a restoration job that requires a new top... That will be my new years Challenge. Hope mine will be half as nice as yours!
Happy new year!!... Mat
ps.. I note that you are using a pad under the e string at the bridge... I find that a touch of super glue, touch of file and some graphite works really well to keep the string from sinking into the bridge and gives good contact string to bridge.

Thanks so much for the positive comments!

I should have mentioned that this fiddle was patterned after the Strad poster of the Stradivarius Kruse violin that came out a couple of years ago, not a copy but I used it for the corpus with some flattening of the arching.

Violin making does seem a bit addictive and I've been feeling without a cause since I completed it but am enjoying playing it tremendously! I'm thinking that #3 will be from the same mold only using traditional European tonewoods this time. #2 has a sitka spruce front and bigleaf quilted back, sound is good but what do I know.
