My account was just activated and your administrator said it would be good if I did took the time do do a quick introduction here. Good idea!

I became passionate about building stringed instruments about 3 years ago, when my kid wouldn't stop nagging me about getting him a Gibson guitar. After a while I announced to him that we would just have to make a Gibson at home.

I'd like o post some images but I can't figure out how to upload images on this forum. Is the image upload feature something that needs to be manually approved for all new members?

So, yes, I think uploading a few images would make a good introduction as you could see what I've built.

However, now my kid wants to play the bass and I want to make a double bass for him. I could just rent one but it wouldn't be as much fun. I also want to play around with some designs, because this will be a bass for a kid, so I want to make it look like a kid's instrument, without making it look like a toy. Again, that's something that I would love to post pictures of, as I make progress.

Since I would mostly be asking for advice I would like to contribute to this community by documenting my progress and basically posting a photo journal.

Welcome to the forum!

I have never made a double bass or a guitar so I cannot be much help with the technical aspects.
Do you have some plans? Anyone to teach you?
