Paul, (is that right?)
There's a Facebook group about bow identification, but IIRC, G.A. Pfretzschner is the name of a company that made and sold bows for the mass market in the early 20th Century. I have one of their bows, and it's, I guess, what might be called a student-grade bow. It's always possible that they sold some decent bows, but I'm not sure they were mostly even made of Pernambuco.
And then of course it also depends on the nature of the required repair. Even an excellent bow can be beyond economical or effective repair. |
