|
|
Hello all,
I am a young luthier (18) and reasonably new to the violin making world, but would like to make a viola.
In searching for plans, the Strad posters seem to be some of the best options for comprehensive dimensions.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a good pattern to start with?
In addition some of the Strad posters are listed as "out of stock" including the Gibson 1734 viola, the Maggini Contralto viola, and the Conte Vitale Amati viola.
Would anyone have any of these (Or any others realistically) that they would be interested is selling? (or loaning)
Thank you very much

Hope strad will reprint these viola poster. I want the vitale.
The bros Amati viola book is good. You may like it. The graduation in the book is +0.5to0.7mm thicker than the strad poster on the same viola. I think the book's ct scan arching is reliable than the drawing in the posters too. |
