Howdy all,
My table of useful measurements does not include a 1/10 size violin. I need to fit a bridge on a 1/10 violin...could someone tell me what the string clearance over the fingerboard is supposed to be?
Thanks,
Becky |

I am assuming you have the Strobel book..."Useful Measurements for Violin Makers"... the actual clearance will vary slightly depending on the player and teacher preference. You may want to start using the 1/8 size dimensions ...see how it plays and work down from there.
good luck...Mat |

yes, I have the Strobel book. Thanks for the advice, Mat. My only fear is that I can't judge accurately since my fingers are so much bigger than the toddler sized fingers this violin is for. Are there standards for a 1/10 size or do most people start with the 1/8 and go from there? |

Just use 1/8--that will be fine. |
