Hi, is it possible to make your own rosin? Any recipes?? I play double bass and I´m never happy with comercial rosins.

What exactly is it that you were not happy about in the commercial rosins? What brands have you used? What climate (i.e. humidity) are you playing in?

Sure you can make your own, but I suspect you will not find many recipes as most makers keep their forumla highly proprietary, as do those folks that treat bridges.

Just do some internet searches and even call some of the makers... they might give you some clues.

I find Kolstein rosin (dark) to be the best all-round one. try it.. Smile
