Genuine 4/4 KINBERG VIOLIN, signed and certified, First-rate workmanship and tonal quality. In excellent condition, WILL BE AVAILABLE in ATLANTA, GA and CHICAGO, IL in MAY FOR VIEWING AND PURCHASE. Private owner.
Before arriving in Chicago, the Kinberg will be available for viewing and purchase in ATLANTA, GA from May 3rd to May 10th.
It will then be in CHICAGO, IL on May 10th, where it will remain for a little over TWO WEEKS.
Many people have been inquiring after this violin - this is the first time in many years that it will be back in the USA. It has been living with us in Italy.
This was my father's Kinberg. My father died recently at age one hundred and two, after a lifetime as a professional violinist.
He was a good friend of Franz Kinberg and used to try his violins for him at his shop in Chicago. Kinberg told my dad that he considered this violin his best work.
This fiddle has traveled and worked. With the Kinberg my dad played with many orchestras and ensembles with Mischa Mischakoff, Georg Solti, Leonard Bernstein, Carlo Maria Giulini, Seiji Ozawa, Bruno Bartoletti, Walter Hendl, Irwin Hoffman and more.
Bruce Carlson in Cremona has appraised the violin at an even higher price than what we are asking, and THE PRICE IS NEGOTIABLE.
