Hello. I just got this violin, and am trying to identify it. The person I got it from said it's been in their family since sometime in the 1800's. Can anyone helpme identify it? Looks like a folk piece. Not exactly professional work (not even any purfling), so without any kind of label, mark, or documentation, my first reaction is that it's just a random folk piece. Could be worth a shiny nickel based on its age, but if you really want an answer, it needs to be in the hands of a professional. _________________ -C.S.
