Has anyone come across a manufacturer of Violin Hollow end pins? I heard mention of them in some older violin making books? Has any one purchased one or even made one? Mainly to check that the soundpost is level without the removal of tailpiece!

They're pretty easy to make. I didn't find any particular advantage to them.

Someone had a US Pat. on them at one time. It may have run out by now. Like Michael Darnton has said,"I didn't find any particular advantage to them." Mostly hype.
