I should not do that because I have many instruments to make but I indulged myself some hours making a small squirrel tail wooden plane.

It was a Manfio like project. I draw everything directly in the wood in a quick way without further thoughts. The executions was in the same way. It was not as difficult as I imagined it would be.

The inner part is maple and the sides and sole (slightly arched) were made of ironwood, I think.

I used an old Stanley blade I had. It works nice, at least for a first project. I'm waiting for the critics of more experience plane makers here.

Nice job Manfio!... and best yet, it looks like it works quite well.
Maybe you will go into the wooden hand plane business next and make some of the world's finest. Do you suppose that might be more profitable?

Yes, good idea, but with these small planes (as in the site you have mentioned) we have to make a twizer with our index and thumb fingers and, eventually, we may develope some problems with that, hence my idea of making a squirrel tail plane.
