Hello Eveyone! I am a new member here,so please let me know if i am doing something wrong as far as the forum restrictions is corcerned.
I would like to tell me your opinion about what I have recently realise..
About 3 months ago I bought a 100years old Austrian violin with a curved lion head on the top, from a famous violin maker in Athens,Greece, who have brought this piece from Austria.
It is an old violin with a good many stratches but excellent in sound.
However, about one week ago,I was looking at it carefully with a flashlight and suddenly i realise that on the back of the lion head scroll there are "1016" numbers curved. The number 10 is more evident and the number "16" is more fade.. I was interested in searching about that and I came across with Bach's BWV 1016 violin sonata.
However, I think that it would be something that the original maker would curved for a reason..
If you like i could upload a couple of photos..
I am really interested in hearing your opinion about that..
Thank you in advance..and sorry for my broken english! |
