We've got our aluminum pole up, and it is about time for "the airing of grievances!"

We've been celebrating Saturnalia for days now!

Ok, I have had a very nice holiday season.

And the rest of you?
R Mac - did you have a happy Saturnalia?
And actonern, did those grievances air well?
Wm-crash, I did have a gangstah- ish Christmas, as well as my son and son-in-law, who I gave folding knives to - for their gifts!

Hah!
Cool.

The "airing of grievances" is taking longer than I'd hoped. My wife went first, and is still holding the floor... Laughing

Ha ha ha!

When that happens to me, I have taught myself to actually go to sleep standing with my eyes open - and occasionally nodding my head...

I did, CT. Thanks! We have been experimenting with "alternative" holiday celebrations to try to take the pressure off of Christmas.

I like the simplicity of the Festivus decorations, but as Actonern points out, the grievance airing can be a bit trying. I also find that I am getting too old to do well in the Feats of Strength.

I am glad to hear the Holiday season is going well for you.

Mac

Ahh - A wise old violin makers maxim;

Only allow them to have a Feat of Strength contest, involving your knife or chisel wielding hand...
that way - no one can ever overcome your greater than human strength!

OK, I realize I'm getting a bit stupid now...
So I'll stop.

(for a little while, at least)

Yes...

Here's hoping that we all can live comfortably for yet another year, as the world around us continues to turn - and perhaps becomes even further weird and more bizzare!

Which I don't mind, mind you - I'm well past giving a real ---- about things like that. I'm only happy that me and mine, are all doing as well as can be expected in life. Truly, I hope that you can say the same about yourself and all of your close and loved ones...

Even making violins has taken an appropriate place in life (Well, for me that is) lately, so, I am wishing all of the posters here a happy new year - as happy a new year as is possible, and many more fiddles and repairs.

Things may happen that cause any one of us to wonder about whether or not it will be one.

Such is life.

So, here's to wishing - a wish for all of us here...
